Local Wedding Venues
We have so many fantastic local wedding venues to host wedding receptions in this area. Here are a few of my favourites…
Belfast Castle
Belfast Castle, a spectacular venue for your wedding, set on the slopes of Cave Hill in north Belfast with stunning views over Belfast Lough, was built in the 1870s by the 3rd Marquis of Donegall and is one of the city’s most famous landmarks. The beautifully landscaped gardens make an excellent backdrop for your wedding photographs.
The striking “Serpentine Staircase” at the front of the castle is in the classical Italian style and is great for wedding photographs (features in several of my portfolio images below). The staircase was added to the castle in 1894 by the 9th Earl of Shaftesbury as a gift to his mother after the family inherited the castle through marriage.
Licensed to hold both marriage and civil partnership ceremonies, the Belfast Castle makes the perfect backdrop for fairytale weddings. Recently voted as the best place in Northern Ireland for a romantic wedding by viewers of the UTV Ultimate Ulster series.

Culloden Estate & Spa
The superb Culloden Estate & Spa can be found on the slopes of the Holywood Hills overlooking Belfast Lough.
The building was originally the official Palace for the Bishops of Down but now has been transformed into one of the most prestigious 5-star hotels in Northern Ireland.
A very romantic setting for your wedding day and a dream for photographers! With the beautiful and excellently maintained gardens, paths and the backdrop of either the Antrim Coast or the palatial surroundings of the former palace itself, your wedding photographs will look fantastic!
With the hotels 5-star status, the staff offer the highest level of service. They have a dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly – from small intimate family weddings to Grand Society Weddings, Culloden Hotel & Spa can handle them all!
Dunadry Hotel
The Dunadry Hotel and Country Club is a romantic venue situated in the heart of County Antrim with professional staff with many years of wedding experience.
The beautifully landscaped gardens with the Six Mile River flowing alongside provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs.
There are also plenty of indoor options including the ornate fireplace and majestic staircase for winter weddings or if it just happens to rain on your wedding day.
The hotel is also licensed to hold wedding ceremonies and their experienced staff are always on hand to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly.
With one wedding per day, The Dunadry Hotel is a perfect venue for your wedding day and another one of my favourite locations to photograph weddings.

Galgorm Resort & Spa
Galgorm Resort & Spa is one of my favourite locations in Northern Ireland for wedding photography and is a stunning venue to photograph weddings.
It is a beautiful setting which lends itself perfectly as a dream wedding location. With extensive mature gardens and the dramatic views of the River Maine, all make for fantastic wedding photography opportunities.
The hotel is also licensed to hold wedding ceremonies in several unique ceremony rooms, including the Phantom House and the Ghost House. Their experienced team are always available to ensure your wedding day runs smoothly from start to finish.
For your wedding reception, you have the choice of three fabulous suites. They offer the grandeur of the Great Hall, the sophistication of the Renaissance Suite or the stylish Four Seasons Suite.
But for me, the beautifully landscaped gardens make shooting weddings at The Galgorm Resort & Spa such a pleasure!

Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick
Hilton Hotel Templepatrick is located just 20 minutes from Belfast City Centre, yet the city seems a million miles away as you are surrounded by green fields.
The hotel is located on the banks of the Six Mile Water within the Castle Upton Estate and has large well-maintained gardens that make the perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs.
The hotel offers two stylish Wedding Suites. The elegant Castle Upton Suite can accommodate up to 260 wedding guests while the more intimate Lylehill Suite will cater for up to 100 guests and has stunning views over the Golf Course.
The hotel is also licensed for Wedding Ceremonies – you can have your wedding service and reception at the same venue – proving very popular lately.
Hilton Hotel at Templepatrick is also the venue for my Beginners Photography Courses.
With the Hilton Hotels first-class reputation, friendly staff and excellent facilities the Hilton Hotel Templepatrick is a perfect venue for your wedding day.

Leighinmohr House Hotel
Leighinmohr House is a hidden gem in Ballymena. Located off the Galgorm Road, the Leighinmohr is a unique boutique hotel, with a strict one wedding per day policy.
They have recently refurbished the main Ballroom & Cocktail Bar – and they look stunning!

Tullyglass House Hotel
Tullyglass House Hotel is a popular wedding venue in Ballymena.
From small family weddings to large society functions, Tullyglass can cater from them all. They have 2 main suites to host weddings. The purpose-built Clock Tower Suite is perfect for larger functions and can host an unbelievable 800 guest! That wasn’t a misprint – Eight Hundred Guests!!
The Kensington Suite is the smaller room, perfect for the more intimate wedding receptions.
For those all-important wedding photographs, the hotel has beautifully landscaped gardens to both the front and rear of the hotel, with many unique features.
I always enjoy photographing weddings at the family-run Tullyglass House Hotel. Gus and his staff always go out of their way to look after everyone.

Rosspark Hotel
Rosspark Hotel near Kells is another hidden gem in the County Antrim countryside. A fantastic venue for your wedding day, located on the outskirts of Ballymena, just 30 minutes from Belfast City Centre.
The one wedding a day policy managed by the friendly and professional team at the Rosspark ensure that you and your guests receive the very best attention and service throughout the wedding day.
Facilities for indoor wedding photography are excellent. The newly refurbished Ross suite can cater for up to 220 wedding guests.
The hotel is also licensed for hosting wedding ceremonies so you can host your wedding service and reception under the one roof.
The well maintained landscaped gardens are a perfect backdrop for your wedding photographs. Together with the fantastic gardens and indoor facilities make Rosspark Hotel an excellent choice for your wedding day.
