Using Chalkboards at Weddings
Using chalkboards at weddings has grown in popularity over the past few years and it’s no surprise as they are versatile, reusable, easy-to-customize and if you use a chalk marker it won’t mess your dress! Long gone are the days of them being used as a teaching aid in the classroom!!
I have pulled together a few ideas on how to incorporate them into your big day.
This idea is very popular for your ceremony especially if you aren’t fussy about the sides that guests sit on. You could word it like this “Choose a seat not a side we’re all family once the knot is tied”
If you are having little people on your bridal party why not get one of them to announce your arrival with a cute personalised chalkboard sign.

A great idea to combine favours and place cards is to provide your guests with a personalised glass showing their name and table number, they can use this all night and take it away with them at the end of the day. Chalkboard stickers are a great idea for the glasses.
If you are going down the route of using the chalkboard stickers for your favours then why not have mini chalkboards for your table numbers to tie it all in!
Again the popularity of these have grown over the past few years and some couples are opting to add their own props. Chalkboard speech bubbles or signs that can be personalised on the night are a great way for your guests to send you little messages!

The fun doesn’t have to be reserved for the photo booth! Why not ask your photographer to take a shot of you both on the day holding chalkboards with a message and use this as your thank you cards for all the amazing gifts you receive!
If you are having lots of activities for your guests then chalkboard signs will be great for letting them know where everything is and what to do. Or if your guests aren’t familiar with your venue pop up a chalkboard sign for directions to ceremony, drinks, dinner and dancing or even just a running order for the day.
Yes really! The chalkboard craze has arrived on the bakeries door too. Wedding cakes are now being made to tie in with this theme and the bride and groom can decide on the message they want to be displayed in their cake!

These ideas are just the tip of the iceberg the possibilities are endless. You can DIY a lot of them too if you are creative, they come in all shapes and sizes and are available in most craft shops.
Personally, I think they lend themselves well to a wedding with a rustic theme, can’t see them working with a sparkly glamorous event!
